പുഴ മാഗസിന്‍ > കഥ > കൃതി -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- മോഹങ്ങള്‍ക്കപ്പുറം മുയ്യം രാജൻ ഓര്‍മ്മകള്‍ക്കിപ്പോള്‍ മൂടല്‍ മഞ്ഞിന്റെ നനവ്. ഇരുളടച്ച് വരുന്ന മഴയുടെ മൂടാപ്പിലേക്ക് കണ്ണും നട്ട് ടിന്റു സിറ്റൗട്ടില്‍ വിചാരപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. മേല്‍ക്കൂരയില്‍ നിന്നും താഴേക്കൊലിച്ച് വീഴുന്ന മഴച്ചാറ്റില്‍ മുഖം നനയുന്നുണ്ട്. ഒരു വേള സുമംഗലയുടെ തലോടല്‍ പോലുണ്ട് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ തോന്നിച്ചു. സിംലയിലെ മഞ്ഞുമറകള്‍‍ക്കിടയിലൂടെ സുമംഗലയുടെ കൈക്കു പിടിച്ചു നടന്നത് ഇന്നലെയെന്നോണം കണ്‍ മുന്നില്‍ തെളിഞ്ഞു. മഞ്ഞുപാളികള്‍ക്കപ്പുറത്തു നിന്നും കണ്ണുതുറക്കുന്ന സൂര്യ കിരനങ്ങള്‍ കാ‍ണാന്‍ കൊതിയൂറി കാത്തിരുന്ന സുപ്രഭാതങ്ങള്‍. പ്രഭാതമാണോ പ്രദോഷമാണോ എന്ന് വ്യവഛേദിച്ചറിയാനാവാത്ത അവസ്ഥാന്തരമായിരുന്നു ആ നാളുകളില്‍ പ്രകൃതിക്ക്. കാശ്മീരിലും ലഡാക്കിലുമൊക്കെ കനത്ത മഞ്ഞുവീഴ്ച മൂലം ഗതാഗതം താറുമാറായ കാര്യം ചാനലുകള്‍ ചവച്ചരച്ച് തുപ്പിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകള്‍ പലയിടങ്ങളിലായി കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടപ്പാണ്. മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് കാശ്മീരിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര റദ്ദാക്കാമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ സുമംഗലയുടെ മുഖം കാര്‍മേഘം പോലെ കറുത്തിരുണ്ടു. കാലാവസ്ഥ മാറുന്നതുവരെ ഹോട്ടല്‍ മുറിയില്‍ ചടഞ്ഞു കൂടിയിരിക്കുകയേ ഇനി നിവൃത്തിയുള്ളു. ന്യൂലി മാരീഡ് കപ്പിള്‍സിന് കമ്പനി അനുവദിച്ചു തന്ന സൗജന്യ മധുവിധു പാക്കേജ് കന്യാകുമാരി - സിംല- കാശ്മീര്‍ .. സുമംഗലയുടെ ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരമാണ് ഈ റൂട്ട് തിരെഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്. തണുത്തുറഞ്ഞ മഞ്ഞുപാളികള്‍ക്കിടയിലൂടെ നഗ്നപാദയായി നടക്കാനുള്ള മോഹം അവളെന്നോ മനസില്‍ താലോലിച്ചിരുന്നു. പഴയ ഏതോ ബോളീവുഡ് സിനിമയില്‍ അത്തരം സീനുകള്‍ കണ്ടത് ഓര്‍മ്മിച്ചെടുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചു. അനിതരസാധാരണമായ പ്രേമരംഗങ്ങള്‍. വഹീദാ റഹ്മാനോ, വൈജയന്തിമാലയോ, നൂതനോ, ആശാ പരേഖോ, രാഖി ഗുത്സാറോ, നന്ദയോ, സൈരാബാനുവോ, ഹേമമാലിനിയോ ആരാണ് നായികയെന്ന് വ്യക്തമായി ഓര്‍മ്മയില്ല. അക്കാലത്തെ നിത്യഹരിത നായകന്‍ ഷമ്മി കപൂറാണ് കൂടെ പാടിയഭിനയിച്ചതെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. യാതൊരു കാരണവശാലും യാത്രികര്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങരുതെന്ന കാലാവസ്ഥാ നിരീക്ഷകരുടെ വിലക്കിനെ വകവെയ്ക്കാതെയാണ് സുമംഗല ശാഠ്യം തുടങ്ങിയത്. ടൈറ്റ് ജീന്‍സും റെഡ് ടോപ്പിലുമവള്‍ അതീവ സുന്ദരിയായിരുന്നു. അതിനു മേല്‍ കമ്പിളി ഉടുപ്പുകള്‍. തലയില്‍ രോമത്തൊപ്പി. അവളുടെ കണ്ണുകള്‍ മാത്രമാണപ്പോള്‍ പുറത്തു കാണാമായിരുന്നത്. മഞ്ഞുകണങ്ങള്‍ വീണ് വെളുത്ത പുരികക്കൊടികള്‍ അവള്‍ക്കൊരു അപ്സരസിന്റെ മേലങ്കി ചാര്‍ത്തിക്കൊടുത്തു. മരം കോച്ചുന്ന തണുത്ത കാറ്റ് ശരീരത്തെ കുത്തി നോവിച്ചു. കമ്പിളി പുതപ്പിനുള്ളില്‍ ചുരുണ്ടു കൂടേണ്ടതിനു പകരം.... പുറത്തിറങ്ങാന്‍ നേരം റിസപ്ഷനിസ്റ്റും സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഗാര്‍ഡും ശക്തമായി വിലക്കിയിരുന്നു. മധുവിധു ലഹരിയുടെ ഉത്തംഗശൃംഗത്തില്‍ വിഹരിക്കുന്ന സുമംഗലയുടെ മുന്നില്‍ അതൊന്നും വിലപ്പോയില്ല. എന്തിനെയും കീഴടക്കാമെന്ന ഒരു വാശി അവളെ എന്നും വരിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെയാണല്ലോ ഐ. ടി മേഖലയിലവള്‍‍ ഈ ചെറുപ്രായത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ഉന്നതമാനങ്ങള്‍ കയ്യാളാനായത്. '' റിലാക്സ് ടിന്റു നമ്മളത്ര കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികളൊന്നുമല്ലല്ലോ. മാക്സിമം എന്‍ജോയ്മെന്റ് ഇതൊന്നും എപ്പോഴും കിട്ടുന്ന അവസരമല്ല. ഇവിടെവരെ വന്നിട്ട് ഇതൊന്നും കാണാതെ പോകുന്നതില്‍ എന്താണൊരു ത്രില്ല്'' അവള്‍ ചിണുങ്ങി. മഞ്ഞിന്റെ ചില്ലുമറയിലൂടെ മന്ദം മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ പിച്ച വയ്ക്കാന്‍ വെമ്പുന്ന ഒരു പിഞ്ചു കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ ലാഘവമായിരുന്നു സുമംഗലയ്ക്ക്. മുട്ടിന് മേലോളമുള്ള കമ്പീളിക്കാലുറ ധരിച്ചിട്ടും ദേഹമാസകലം മരവിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. മഞ്ഞില്‍ പുതയാത്ത ഷൂസിനടിയില്‍ ചതഞ്ഞരയുന്ന മഞ്ഞുകട്ടകളുടെ കരകരപ്പ് മാത്രം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൗനത്തെ ഭജ്ഞിച്ചു. കാല്‍ വഴുതാതിരിക്കാന്‍ സുമംഗല എന്റെ കൈകള്‍ മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു. വിജനമായ റോഡിലൂടെ വളരെ പതുക്കെയാണ് ഞങ്ങള്‍ നടന്നത്. മഞ്ഞുകൂമ്പാ‍രങ്ങളുടെ ദൃശ്യവിശാലത ഒരു കൊച്ചുകുഞ്ഞിന്റെ കൗതുകത്തോടെ മൊബൈലില്‍ പകര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു അവള്‍.‍ മഞ്ഞില്‍ പുതഞ്ഞു പോയ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ വഴിയിലുടനീളം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് കണ്ണിലുടക്കി. കൊച്ചു പാറക്കെട്ടുകള്‍ പോലെ അതിശക്തമായ മഞ്ഞു വീഴ്ചമൂലം മുന്നോട്ട് നീങ്ങാനാവാതെ വഴിയിലുപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട വാഹന വ്യൂഹങ്ങള്‍. ശീതക്കാറ്റ് ശക്തിയായി വീശാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയത് പെട്ടന്നാണ്. അസ്ഥികള്‍ തുളക്കുന്ന കാറ്റ് സ്വെറ്ററിനുള്ളിലൂടെ അരിച്ചു കയറുമ്പോള്‍‍ സുമംഗലയെന്നെ ചേര്‍ത്തു പിടിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ അത്യപൂര്‍വദൃശ്യങ്ങളെ ക്യാമറക്കണ്ണുകളിലേക്ക് ആവാഹിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ആവേശത്തില്‍ കൈ വിട്ടു പോയ ഒരു നിമിഷം അതെ അന്നേരമാണ് ഒരു ഹുങ്കാരത്തോടെ മഞ്ഞുപാളികള്‍ മുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇടിഞ്ഞു വീഴാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയത്. ഞൊടിയിടക്കുള്ളില്‍ ഏതോ അദൃശ്യതയിലേക്ക് സുമംഗലയെ അടര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു പോയതും ഏതോ ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമയിലെ അപൂര്‍വരംഗം പോലെയായിരുന്നത്. സുമംഗലാ...സുമംഗലാ.... തലനാരിഴയുടെ വ്യത്യാസത്തില്‍ എങ്ങിനെയോ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു ഞാന്‍. പരിസരബോധം വീണ്ടെടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഐസില്‍ പൊതിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ദേഹമാസകലം മരവിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. വളരെ ആയാസപ്പെട്ടാണ് അരക്കെട്ട് വരെ മഞ്ഞില്‍ പുതഞ്ഞു പോയ കാലുകളെ അടര്‍ത്തിയെടുത്തത്. മരവിപ്പിനെ വകവെയ്ക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നയിരുപ്പില്‍ കുറെ നേരം ഇഴഞ്ഞു നീങ്ങാന്‍ ശ്രമം നടത്തി. അന്തരീക്ഷം കറുത്തിരുണ്ടിരുന്നു. ഒരു ഭീമാകാരമായ പഞ്ഞിക്കെട്ടിനുള്ളില്‍ കുരുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതു മാതിരി തോന്നി. മുട്ടുകുത്തി ഒരു വിധത്തില്‍ എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അരക്കു താഴെ ജീവനില്ലാത്തതു പോലെ അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടു. ശരീരമാസകലം വിറകൊള്ളുന്നു. ഇടറുന്ന പാദങ്ങളെ വലിച്ചിഴച്ച് എത്ര നേരമെടുത്തു ആള്‍വാസമുള്ളയിടത്തെത്താനെന്നോര്‍മയില്ലായിരുന്നു. സ്വബോധം വീണ്ടെടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ദില്ലി ഓഫീസില്‍ നിന്നും പറന്നെത്തിയ സഹപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ മ്ലാനമായ മുഖങ്ങള്‍ ഒരു പുക പടലത്തിലെന്നോണം മുന്നില്‍. അന്തരംഗത്തില്‍ നിന്നുയര്‍ന്ന ഒരു നിലവിളി തൊണ്ടയിലുടക്കി. സുമംഗല ...! ശ്വാസതടസ്സമനുഭവപ്പെട്ട് നിരവധി തവണ മരണമുഖം നേരില്‍ കണ്ട ദിനരാത്രങ്ങള്‍... ഭക്ഷണവും വെള്ളവും കിട്ടാതെ മഞ്ഞുമലകളില്‍ തകര്‍ന്നു വീണ ഹെലികോപ്ടറില്‍ നിന്നും കഷ്ടിച്ച് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട യാത്രികരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ എവിടെയാണ് കണ്ടത്. ഭക്ഷണത്തിന് മറ്റൊരു മാര്‍ഗവുമില്ലാതെ സഹപ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്റെ ജഡം ഭക്ഷിച്ച് കാലം കഴിച്ചു കൂട്ടിയ കഥ.... ഒന്നും ഓര്‍മ്മിച്ചെടുക്കാനാവുന്നില്ലിപ്പം. നിയമക്കുരുക്ക് തന്റെ മേലും വീണു. സ്ത്രീധനത്തിന്റെ പേരില്‍ കൊക്കയിലേക്ക് തള്ളിയിട്ട് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയെന്ന് വരെ ആരോപണമുണ്ടായി. വേണ്ടെത്ര തെളിവുകളില്ലാതെ കാലാന്തരത്തില്‍ കേസ് തള്ളിപ്പോയെങ്കിലും കാലം മായ്ക്കാത്ത മുറിവുകള്‍ വ്രണമായി മനസ്സില്‍ തളം കെട്ടിക്കിടക്കുന്നു.... പുറത്ത് മഴ നേര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അടുത്ത മഴക്കുള്ള കോപ്പു കൂട്ടുകയാണ് അങ്ങു ദൂരെ മേഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്ന കരിംഭൂതങ്ങള്‍. ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ മാത്രം സൗജന്യമാണിന്ന് ഇത്തരം കാഴ്ചകള്‍. ഈറന്‍ കാറ്റാണിപ്പോള്‍ മേഘ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ മേയ്ക്കുന്ന ആട്ടിടയന്‍..... നിറകണ്ണീരൊലിപ്പിച്ച് മഴ രൂപത്തിലൊരു നാള്‍ സുമംഗലയും ഈ മുറ്റത്ത് പെയ്തലിയുമോ? അവള്‍ നെഞ്ചില്‍ തല ചായ്ച്ച് പൊട്ടിക്കരയുമ്പോള്‍ സാന്ത്വനിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഒന്നാര്‍ത്തിയോടെ വാരിപ്പുണരാനാവാതെ ഉഴറുന്ന എന്റെ മുറിച്ചു മാറ്റപ്പെട്ട കരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കരുത്ത് കാണുമോ? മോഹങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മറുമരുന്നില്ല.
