The Eastern Half of the village possesses a laterite rocky area( Chorukkala and Pokkund area) where widespread laterite stone- mining is going on.Cashew is widely cultivated in this area.The rocky land slopes to the fertile north bank of Valapattanam River( Kurumathur area) where rice- fields exist The Western Half has vast rice- fields(Muyyam and Vadakkamchery area).The stream(Kuttikkol river) flows through the valley makes the fields fertile and plentiful in water. The District Agricultural Farm,The Taliparamba Block Development Office and the Extension Training Centre are situated in the village.
